HEALING HANDS: Sandra Radovic’s Journey and Impact as a Massage Therapist
In a world of constant change and chaos, sometimes the most profound healing comes from the most ordinary and simple acts. Touch is one such delicate gesture that serves as a powerful reminder of the common humanity we all share.
Sandra Radovic, an Australian-born massage therapist and founder of the holistic healing business Restore Body Care, is dedicated to making massage therapy accessible to all. Her product line, which includes salves, tinctures, and hand-made sleeping masks, complements her extensive knowledge on various massage modalities. At 50, she traded legal paperwork for hands-on massage therapy, finding deep fulfillment in the art of touch.
Radovic’s decision to transition from a stagnant legal career to the linen sheets and essential oils of massage was driven by a deep-seated desire to pursue meaningful work that could better align with her previously established passion for social welfare.
After serving as an in-home caregiver, Radovic's passion for assisting the elderly and patients dealing with terminal illnesses propelled her into roles across multiple clinics in the Bay Area. Drawing on her experience and compassionate nature, she ventured into establishing her own practice following her certification in massage therapy in 2021. Despite offering her services in a variety of locations across the Bay Area, she predominantly practices at her personal clinic located at Six Bridge Street, San Anselmo, CA, 94960.
With just three full years of experience, Radovic's healing prowess and ability to forge connections have not only profoundly impacted her close friends' lives but have also made a lasting impression on the broader Bay Area community.
Her dedication to improving the world is evident not only in her professional endeavors but also in her willingness to collaborate with individuals regardless of their background, beliefs, or circumstances.
"If you had told me twenty years ago that I would one day have my own massage therapy practice in Marin County, I would admit to being somewhat shocked, though not entirely surprised. Since I was little, I've always harbored a deep desire to pursue this path. Despite my unconventional journey, I stand proud, knowing that I've remained true to myself and to the little girl from my past who always aspired to help and heal others," commented Radovic.
BRIDGING DIVIDES THROUGH HEALING: Sandra Radovic's Widespread Impact
Operating in both Marin County and San Francisco, Radovic serves a diverse clientele spanning various backgrounds, ages, and health needs. Testimonials on her website underscore her skill and effectiveness in healing. On average, she attends to over twelve clients weekly, with typically one new client each week.
Despite her inherently kind attitude, her compassion and willingness to help others stems from a deeply personal place—one of firsthand experience with displacement and financial insecurity while raising a daughter as a single mother in the Bay Area. Because of this experience, she empathizes with others who are facing similar challenges, always ready to extend a helping hand.
"Radovic's practice remains the only functioning clinic in Marin County to have a sliding scale for clients. This speaks volumes to Radovic's mission of making massage therapy accessible to all. To this day, she remains driven to help those who often don't receive such services to gain access."
Aside from her massage therapy practice, Radovic also serves as the general manager at Bay Area Immigration Law Firm, where she assists immigrants in gaining citizenship. This role, along with her love for volunteering, is another way she contributes to helping people in the Bay Area.
Radovic firmly believes and emphasizes that it is never too late to discover one's true passion. She describes leaving the legal field and finding something that truly fulfills her as one of the best decisions she has made in her life, second only to having her daughter.
"There's nothing quite like the excitement I feel when practicing massage. I genuinely hope everyone discovers that one thing—a job or role—that brings them as much joy as massage brings me. This is especially my wish for my daughter. Now, at 53, I can honestly say I'm deeply content with my life—I wouldn't trade this profound sense of fulfillment and freedom for anything else in the world," shared Radovic."
THE CLINIC: Sandra Radovic's healing approaches through space and sound
Despite the physical demands of her profession, Radovic remains dedicated to her craft, finding profound fulfillment in the art of healing through touch.
Sandra Radovic underscores the therapeutic power of sound, highlighting its pivotal role in her clients' healing journeys at her practice. By selecting specific sounds, she crafts a unique ambiance that enriches the overall experience. Coupled with distinctive lighting and room settings, Radovic's practice fosters an environment designed for relaxation and introspection.
FINDING BEAUTY IN THE MUNDANE: Sandra Radovic's testament to the basics
By finding beauty in the mundane, Radovic seeks to remind her clients of the often-overlooked reasons that make life beautiful. For Radovic, the repetitive nature of massage calms her and provides a space for reflection.
The repeated motions of folding sheets, setting up the massage table, and mentally preparing to give her mind, heart, and hands to her clients are all part of a centering process integral to her practice.
Below are beautifully captured moments that highlight the simplicity and profound beauty of her practice, her mission, and her meticulous attention to making every client feel uniquely special.
Despite the repetitive nature of her work, Radovic emphasizes the individuality and creativity each client inspires, as no two people are the same. For her, massage is a creative outlet to help people find relief from pain, exhaustion, and stress, with each person serving as a unique canvas for her skills.
"I never thought I would dread the idea of retirement, but now I do. I just can’t see myself doing anything else," Radovic shared off camera.
